Job Description

We are looking for a Network Security Technical Product Manager to support our Network Security team in safeguarding McDonald’s. This position is part of the Global Technology group responsible for critical network security services including firewall, IPS/IDS, SSE, ZTNA, VPN, and DDoS protection. The role involves leading all aspects of the strategic direction, technical development, and daily operation of various Network Security products and platforms, primarily focusing on Firewall, IDS, and IPS.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new Network Security services and improving existing ones to safeguard our users, devices, networks, applications, and data. Setting high-level strategy and direction for the services under their purview, they will also establish clear expectations, goals, and requirements for vendors, which will serve as metrics for success. It is important to engage with all business and tech teams to meet market and internal needs.

This role reports directly to the Director of Global Network Security.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

You will work closely with market technology teams, Global Technology Risk Management teams, Global Technology Infrastructure and Operations teams, application owners, key vendors, and others to ensure the accurate design and functioning of McDonald’s network security services.

  • Lead design, engineering, and delivery activities for network security platforms, focusing on Firewall and NDR.
  • Act as platform owner responsible for improvement and life cycle management of NGFW and NDR platforms.
  • Analyze sophisticated network security issues, resolve causes, and identify corrective actions.
  • Ensure availability and performance of the platform to meet business needs.
  • Coordinate platform vision, strategy and roadmap, including market research, backlog prioritization, and budgets.
  • Lead external vendors to ensure service delivery meets standards and business needs.
  • Lead technical evaluation and vendor selection for innovative platform development.
  • Define, document, and communicate network security standards, platform documentations.
  • Lead, maintain, and improve platform capacity and performance.
  • Develop platform resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Drive automation for deployment, configuration and incident resolution.
  • Support the development of network security platform vision, strategy and roadmap in partnership with global technology and external stakeholders.
  • Support technical evaluation and vendor selection to develop and deploy groundbreaking platforms, spanning beyond traditional technology.
  • Rationalize network security landscape and select new platforms to deliver value to McDonald’s.
  • Lead, maintain and continuously improve the platform, its capacity and performance.

The expected salary range for this role is $129,800- $165,490 per year

Qualifications

  • Expertise knowledge and experience (5+ Years) in designing, building, supporting, and managing network security products and platforms, including, but not limited, to Firewall, IDS and IPS.
  • Indepth knowledge and experience in owning and or leading one or more of the Firewall Technology in sophisticated environment
  • Palo Alto Firewall
  • CheckPoint Firewalls
  • Cisco Fierwalls.
  • Shown experience designing, building, supporting, and managing Azure, AWS or GCP Security Groups/Firewalls.
  • Experience in leading and delivering Network Security services in AWS, GCP or Azure cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing network security standards and policies and transforming networks to adhere to them.
  • (3+ years) Experience in leading and delivering services using 3rd party vendors and service providers.
  • Experience in evaluating and selecting new technologies, translating them into roadmaps, and developing arguments
  • Experience in delivering large-scale automation (e.g. Network as Code) for delivering network security services.

Preferred skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Network, Cyber security
  • Experience in leading Network Security transformation program for a sophisticated and multinational company.
  • Experience in leading the innovation and standardization of network security solutions across the business.
  • Experience leading a 24x7x365 team.
  • Driving continuous service and process improvements and translating them into viable solutions.
  • Professional certifications such as CCIE/CCNP Security, PCNSE, CISM, CISSP.
  • Experience working with an Agile environment. Familiar with documentation process and tools, JIRA and Confluence preferred.
  • Experienced with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipeline tools.
