Job Description

MSIG is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Product Development Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and delivering form, rate and rule requirements for commercial insurance applications. You will work closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, operations, developers, and end-users, to ensure that all requirements are well-defined and aligned with business objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial insurance products and the ability to translate business needs into clear specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with key stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into system requirements for commercial insurance applications.

  • Business Analysis: Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation and system improvements within the commercial insurance domain.

  • System Design: Work with development teams to design and implement system requirements that support core commercial insurance functionality.

  • Documentation: Develop clear, detailed, and structured system requirement documentation.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring that system requirements meet both business needs and technical constraints.

  • User Acceptance Testing & Validation: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that system requirements are correctly implemented and meet functional and business expectations.

  • Project Support: Provide ongoing support during project development, including assisting with prioritization, resolving requirements-related issues, and ensuring that changes are appropriately documented and tracked.

  • Risk & Impact Assessment: Evaluate potential risks and impacts of system changes and help develop mitigation strategies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in requirements development, business analysis, or system analysis within the commercial insurance industry.

  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with commercial insurance software platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek)

  • Insurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, including property, casualty, liability, workers' compensation, and other lines of coverage.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze policy forms and rules and translate them for system requirement development.

  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial and financial lines of business.

  • Experience working on large-scale, enterprise-level insurance systems.

  • Experience working in an agile environment.
