The Oregon Department of Corrections is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Administrative Specialist 2 at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF).
This position is available for current regular status employees of the Oregon Department of Corrections, Oregon Corrections Enterprises, or Oregon Board of Parole, Probation, and Post-Prison Supervision.
In this role, you will implement and manage the Institution Staff Deployment System (ISDS) database, ensuring the efficient scheduling of security staff while balancing budgetary constraints and security needs. You will be responsible for coordinating payroll, processing leave requests, organizing the bid process, scheduling annual leave, and training, and providing technical consultation to executive staff, management, and line staff regarding scheduling policies and best practices. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with leadership to maintain a balance between security needs and budget limitations, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance.
This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Three (3) years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
An associate degree in general office occupations and two (2) years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
This employee works inside a secure adult correctional facility. The employee in this position works as a member of an office team where conversations and paperwork are generated of a sensitive nature. The conversations and paperwork may occur on a daily basis. The employee must have the ability to keep this information confidential. Rotating shifts/positions of a 24-hour, 7-day a week operation with night shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as required. Must remain alert, occasionally dealing with verbal abuse and threats, work unarmed in the midst of AICs. The employee is responsible to prevent escapes from confinement by proper control of AICs, keys, tools, contraband and documenting unusual incidents as they occur. Subject to requirement of recall

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.
