Faculty, Nursing Program

Overview

This person will be responsible for educational leadership, student instruction, and student advising in nursing. This position requires day, evening, and weekend hours to meet the needs of the nursing program.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in nursing and Master of Science in nursing. Required
  • Doctorate degree in nursing, education, or a closely related field. Preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Must meet and maintain health and safety requirements (MMR, hepatitis B, varicella, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and annual influenza vaccination, PPD testing, COVID-19, etc.) as required by clinical affiliation agreements. Required
  • Must maintain current, active unencumbered registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Required
  • Valid and in State Valid Driver's License Required

EXPERIENCE

  • Expertise in adult health/medical-surgical nursing. Required
  • Expertise in other specialty areas within nursing. Preferred
  • Nursing experience involving direct patient care or nursing education experience within two (2) years of employment. Required

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Required
  • Developed organizational skills. Required
  • Must be certified in CPR at the Basic Life Support level or higher and maintain certification. Required
  • Must possess a valid driver's license. Required

 

Responsibilities

  • Teach nursing coursework (Combination of clinical, lab, and lecture) each semester according to contractual guidelines.
  • Instruct, supervise, and evaluate students performance in the nursing program.
  • Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate records on students.
  • Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
  • Assist with curriculum review, revision, and development.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the necessary documentation for the college and program accreditation standards (Middle States reports, end of course reports, curricular maps, course syllabi, etc.).
  • Assume responsibility for laboratory experiences, development, coordination, and maintenance.
  • Participate in professional development and technological upgrading activities.
  • Contribute to the betterment of the college through program and school committee participation.
  • Contribute to the betterment of the college through college wide committee participation.
  • Attend departmental/program and school meetings
  • Attend accreditation/standard meetings as scheduled and fulfill the role requirements specific to the standard.
  • Assist with the preparation of grant proposals and with follow up activities.
  • Safely and effectively supervise and instruct students in the clinical and lab areas.
  • Keep up to date and comply with policies and procedures of clinical site/affiliations where students practice.
  • Contribute and assist with departmental assessment, program review, and the accreditation process.
  • Assist with providing student tours and recruitment activities scheduled by the college, school, and/or department.
  • Participate in Open House and commencement according to contractual guidelines.
  • Physical Standards and Special Job Features

    Standing or walking for extended periods of time. Multiple physical positioning including full range of motion. Fine motor manual dexterity. Some lifting not to exceed 50 lbs.

    Pay Transparency

    Commensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College’s Faculty Salary System. As a point of reference, the salary range for new full-time faculty hired in various disciplines throughout the College for the 2025/26 academic year is $61,969 – $79,813.
