Technical Project Manager

 

Job Description:

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, systems compliance personnel, and stakeholders, to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. You will also be responsible for managing risks, tracking project progress, and ensuring that all project deliverables meet the required standards.  This is a remote role, but candidates must live in the DC Metro area and travel to the office as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end execution of technical projects, including project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Manager project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and establish project timelines.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Monitor project progress, identify issues or risks, and take corrective actions when necessary to ensure successful delivery.
  • Communicate project status, progress, and risks to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Ensure that all project documentation is complete, accurate, and organized.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate change management processes.
  • Ensure that project teams adhere to the best practices, development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), and company standards.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and improve future project planning and execution.

Qualifications

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.  or 16 years with a High School Diploma
  • Secret clearance required
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in a technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with software development processes and technologies (e.g., cloud services, software development, etc.).
  • Familiarity with FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP system compliance activities.
  • Strong analytical and business process improvement skills.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
