Chief Information Officer

Rogers Behavioral Health is seeking a dynamic, visionary Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the organization’s enterprise-wide information technology strategy. This senior executive will oversee all aspects of IT operations—including network infrastructure, cybersecurity, clinical informatics, enterprise systems, and digital transformation initiatives—ensuring technology serves as a powerful enabler of exceptional care delivery, operational efficiency, and innovation.

The CIO will play a critical role in guiding Rogers through its next chapter of digital evolution, leveraging technology to support high-quality behavioral health care across inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings.

This is a highly collaborative, mission-driven role for a proven technology leader who understands the complexities of healthcare delivery and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those affected by mental illness.

Technology Strategy & Innovation

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, forward-thinking IT strategy that aligns with Rogers’ vision, clinical goals, and system-wide priorities

  • Oversee the management of the IT infrastructure, applications, and data systems to ensure reliability, security, and performance.

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, identifying technology trends and solutions that enhance patient care, access, and efficiency.

  • Lead the organization in adopting emerging digital tools and platforms that support care coordination, virtual services, and operational intelligence.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure quality service and cost-effective solutions.

Infrastructure, Systems & Security

  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and security of a resilient IT infrastructure across all Rogers locations, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and uptime.

  • Champion cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other applicable regulations while fostering a strong culture of security awareness.

  • Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of enterprise systems, including EHRs, practice management tools, and cloud-based platforms.

Clinical Informatics & Data Strategy

  • Develops robust data systems to support clinical decision-making, quality improvement, and research efforts.

  • Ensure accurate, real-time access to patient data, outcomes, and operational metrics across departments to drive performance and accountability.

  • Promote interoperability between internal systems and external partners (e.g., payers, referring providers, public health entities).

Leadership and Organizational Impact

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, service, and innovation.

  • Establish effective governance structures for IT investments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, clinical workflows, and financial stewardship.

  • Cultivate partnerships with vendors, consultants, and external partners to bring cutting-edge technology solutions into the behavioral health space.

  • Champion cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other applicable regulations while fostering a strong culture of security awareness.

Additional Job Description:

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Able to travel by car, bus, train, and airplane.

  • May require on-call availability during critical system outages or issues.

  • Position requires walking, sitting and standing. Lifting is moderate; must be capable of lifting a minimum of forty (40) pounds. Reaching, handling, grasping and manual dexterity are necessary to operate various equipment.

  • Verbal and hearing ability are required to interact with staff, consultants, patients and family members of patients. Numerical ability is required to maintain records and operate a computer.

  • Tact is required to interact effectively with employees and professional staff. Logical thinking and discretion required to make decisions in initiating and implementing policies and procedures and standards.

  • Must be able to read and communicate through written, verbal and auditory skills and abilities.

  • Must be physically/mentally able to perform job duties as verified by a physical exam by a licensed physician, per post-employment physical.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field required. Master’s degree in business administration, Health Administration, or Technology Management strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least five (5) years in an executive or senior-level role within a healthcare environment.

  • Prior experience in behavioral health or multi-state clinical organization is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to healthcare IT.

  • Proven success leading large-scale technology initiatives, including HER implementations, infrastructure modernization, and data analytics strategies.

  • Expertise in health IT systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech), data platforms, and clinical informatics.

  • Strong understanding of network architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and IT service delivery models.

  • Familiarity with healthcare standards, regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH), and data privacy practices.

  • Proven experience in project management and strategic planning.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Valid driver license. Must be granted insurable status by the Rogers Memorial Hospital insurance policy.
