Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential full time opportunity for a Civilian Physical Therapist at Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks Alaska.

 

Job Description includes:

  • Full time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday - no weekends
  • Paid Federal holidays
  • Paid time off  
  • Manageable patient workload

The Physical Therapist will have the following requirements: 

  • Masters or Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapist Association (APTA) approved program. 
  • Any state Physical Therapist License
  • Graduate from college or University approved by the CAPTE
  • Experience required to meet clinical competency requirements specified by the Base
  • Valid BLS certification  

Core Duties:• Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinicalprivileges granted by the MTF including differential diagnosis.• Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient.• Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function.• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such asnon-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in useof assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.• Administer manual therapy to include: joint mobilization/manipulation and soft tissuemobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology.Certification in dry needling preferred.• Administer traction to relieve pain, using traction equipment.• Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart and/or automated systems.• Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patientinformation, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapytreatment with other aspects of the patient's health care. Contact referring physiciansregarding patient care concerns, as required.• Perform prevention and wellness activities, education, screening, and promote positivehealth behaviors.
