Post Harvest Technician

GAGE Cannabis is a vertically integrated cannabis operation with 20 dispensaries and 3 cultivation and manufacturing sites in Michigan and counting! This position will be responsible for helping production and general labor of our Cultivation facilities by performing duties assigned by local cultivation leadership.

Physical Requirements (some positions vary):
  • Able to push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50lbs
  • Capable of sitting, standing kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time
  • Capable of using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel and pick
  • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals (butane, propane, etc.) following strict safety guidelines
  • Utilize chemicals (such as bleach) to clean and maintain facility/equipment
  • Must wear PPE (clothing protection), close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear/eye protection


Environmental Factors:
  • This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments.  Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions.


Responsibilities
  • Follow approved procedures for receiving, preparing, storing, arranging, and manicuring products to ensure quality, accuracy, and product rotation and protection
  • Move product to work surfaces for further inspection and processing
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
  • Accurate counting, quality control, and attention to detail are essential
  • Pack, unpack, and mark stock items, using an identification tag, stamp, or electronic marking tool, or other labeling equipment. Labeling is a large part of the job
  • Maintain quality of product
  • Handle damaged and waste products per company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods
  • Utilize and maintain equipment as required by the department; report any equipment problems immediately
  • General labor throughout the facility as needed (clean up, light maintenance, etc.)
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with SOP and QA sanitation standards, and keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • Clean the grow rooms including floors and walls
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years or older and pass a background check
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks for the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to work with bleach and Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol)
  • Must be able to work with delicate precision and strong attention to detail
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and meet minimum quality and production metrics
  • Dress and groom per company policy including hair restraint requirements
  • Must be service oriented and have the ability to take initiative with little direction or supervision
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 or more pounds
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance


Full Time, Hourly:  Schedule: 1st shift. No breaks but paid 30-minute lunch. Weekends and overtime required when necessary. Must be able to work up to a 12-hour shift when necessary.
