Company: The Kyiv Independent is Ukraine’s main English-language news outlet. It was founded in November 2021 by a team of reporters and editors who were fired from the Kyiv Post for defending editorial independence, in partnership with a media consultancy company Jnomics. Today it’s a team of around 70 people based mostly in Kyiv and across the world. Publishing in English, we serve as Ukraine’s voice in the world and the world’s window into Ukraine.
In the AM role, you will do well if you have experience in business development and/or outbound prospecting, if you love a challenge, working in target-driven environments, and succeeding as part of a team. We are seeking someone who is not afraid to speak to C-level customers on the phone as well as making sure you are up to date on the newest technologies and industry trends.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the head of Commercial Partnerships, you will work closely with Commercial team members on the key commercial partnerships.
You will lead the post-sales project implementation, including contracting, payment processing, project managing the production, analysing, reporting and other relevant activities.
At occasion, you will participate in the sales pitches and prepare sales collateral for the native and direct advertising across various platforms owned by the Kyiv Independent.
Engage with new clients for the Kyiv Independent and building relationships with the existing ones;
Work with our adtech partners to set up and deliver directly sold programmatic campaigns in Google AdManager;
Perform due diligence on the inbound and outbound prospects - we adhere to high ethical standards in our partnerships;
Work with the marketing team to produce case studies, sales presentations and sales collateral. This is where we expect you to unleash your creativity!
Manage, track and report sales activities using CRM tools (we are on Hubspot).
Work to introduce process improvements to the core sales processes.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in media sales and / account management;
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with the clients and internal teams (legal, finance, editorial);
Experience in selling different advertising formats in the media industry, including programmatic, native, direct advertising, sponsorships and job adverts;
Experience working with sales tools: LinkedIn Sales navigator, Hubspot, Salesforce, and Google Analytics is a plus;
Bonus points for experience working with legal documentation and processing contracting and payments for key clients;
Strong project management skills and proven ability to optimize work processes;
Fluency in English is required for this role (other languages, especially Ukrainian is a plus);
Note: You might not have all the experiences and tick all the boxes, but we would like to hear from you if you have at least 70% of skills.
