Responsibilities

As a Telemetry Nurse at St Mary Medical Center you’ll put your nursing skills and knowledge to the test as you closely monitor your patients’ vitals like blood pressure oxygen saturation heart rhythms and respiration. You’ll also put patients and their loved ones at ease by explaining test results in a way they can understand and make significant healthcare decisions. 

Each day you’ll serve as a key member of our nursing team by working with our doctors and other clinical specialists to closely observe patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. You’ll build trust in these interactions by learning new concepts and applying what you know in real-time to provide solutions for real people. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to provide great care learn new things and ability to communicate effectively with peers patients and patients' loved ones. 

  • Track routine heart rate blood pressure and pulse ox levels
  • Quickly report and address any changes in condition
  • Patiently and thoroughly explain tests results and procedures to patients and family members
  • Educate patients on post-hospital care including prescribed medicine care maintenance and prevention

Qualifications

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Current advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
  • Minimum of one year Acute Care RN experience.
  • Completion of a Telemetry class preferred
  • Completion of EKG interpretation class preferred
  • Successful completion of a medication examination and satisfactory completion of department/unit specific orientation.
