The Student Program Coordinator will participate in the planning, development, implementation and delivery of one or more programs designed to support undergraduate student populations and for the Cockrell School of Engineering.
Manage and coordinate the Engineering Academic Recovery Program which assists students struggling academically.
Leads the coordination of the Engineering Honors Program.
Review and process Over 17 hours applications and Concurrent Enrollment applications.
Conducts routine developmental academic advising to include managing adds, drops, and withdrawals, appeal reviews, academic and scholastic warning advising and appeal reviews, crisis intervention advising, career counseling, resource referrals, major change advising, course selection advising for new first-year students, present prospective information sessions, FIG facilitator, and assisting with the coordination of graduation activities.
Participates in university-wide and school-wide activities, such as Family Weekend, Order of the Engineer, Honors Day, Explore UT, and Commencement.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience coordinating student programs with college students.
Commitment to working with and supporting undergraduate students and their families and engaging with students, faculty and staff from a wide range of backgrounds.
High energy, team player with strong, dynamic written, verbal and presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with all levels of constituents; students, families, faculty and other staff members.
Able to work independently and in teams with overlapping projects.
Demonstrated professional demeanor.
Experience working with software for databases, spreadsheets, presentations and/or desktop publishing.
Familiarity with video and web conferencing software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Master’s degree and experience in higher education, college student personnel, liberal arts or communications.
Experience working with high school or college-aged students.
Able to work in a multi-faceted environment with tightly scheduled programs and deadlines.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Appreciation for and knowledge of engineering /STEM education and knowledge with the University of Texas at Austin and the Cockrell School of Engineering.
$52,000 + depending on qualifications
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Occasional travel may be required.
Standard work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Periodic work outside of normal business hours, to include evenings and weekends, may be required.
