Position Description 


The Equipment Manager will support the High Performance and Sport Medicine staffs in preparing and packing equipment and supplies for domestic and international camps. The position demands a level of familiarity with equipment, products, and supplies necessary for facilitating medical care and sports performance training both on and off the field. This position reports to and works closely with the Director of Equipment Operations.  Additionally, this position also works with the Sporting Operations teams to meet departmental goals.


As a member of the Equipment Operations department, this individual may be required to travel with our WNT, MNT, YNT, and ENT camps as needed and is an integral part of team support. A high degree of professionalism is required, as is the ability to create quick, practical solutions for issues that arise independently. The position focuses on ensuring the players, High Performance and Medical staff members can rely on having team equipment needs secured for all training, matches, etc. 


  

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Pack/unpack medical equipment serving domestic and international camps
  • Load/unload medical equipment being delivered to/from logistic providers
  • Use inventory software to maintain accurate product inventory, product replenishment needs, and individual product dispersal as requested by High Performance and Sport Medicine staff
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and organization of medical supply room
  • Maintain safety compliance of medical equipment with regular maintenance as needed
  • Monitor and evaluate equipment for repair, refurbishment as needed
  • Itemize, restock, and replace supply needs 
  • Work closely with the High Performance staff to ensure the USSF standards in all medical provisions are optimized, delivered, and recorded 
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet shipping deadlines
  • Effective management of day-to-day operations of on-site high performance and medical equipment storage rooms 
  • Place orders with preferred vendors and track inventory within the EQ Department inventory system
  • Review and analyze financial information from vendor contracts to ensure all operations are within budget
  • Manage the movement and logistical planning for all equipment needs for High Performance and Sport Medicine presence at domestic and international camps, matches, and tournaments, including the coordination, packing, and overseeing the shipping and receiving logistics
  • Serve as the critical point of contact for all necessary equipment fulfillment needs that arise for traveling teams, Federation staff, departments, etc. 
  • Sustain proactive communication with Director of Equipment Operations, High Performance and Sport Medicine personnel
  • Assist the High Performance and Sport Medicine staff with equipment and training set up, as needed

Requirements


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in athletic training, physical therapy, sports performance, or related field
  • History of working with inventory and ordering system(s) 
  • General knowledge of soccer
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for long durations, squat, bend, lift, carry, and climb ladders
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments 
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work and execute under pressure and deadlines 
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication combined with a professional demeanor 
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed 
  • Travel potentially up to 15%
  • General knowledge of soccer 
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments 
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission 
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

  • 1-3 years of prior competitive sports team, equipment management experience 
  • Knowledge and experience of medical modalities, equipment, technology, and supplies (first aid, taping) 
  • Thorough institutional understanding of U.S. Soccer’s mission, goals, technical plan, policies, practices, and procedures
  • Previous experience with a club or national team
  • Passion for soccer
  • Flexible schedule
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
