Role Summary

The role holder will be responsible for contributing to and executing on the end-to-end Category Management including Strategy and Planning, Governance, Strategic Sourcing, Management of key Suppliers, Stakeholder Engagement and Business Partnership, ensuring full accountability for stakeholders’ experience and contribution to building Europe Sourcing team positive brand. 

Categories in scope

Technology Category includes Software, Hardware, Technology Services, Networks/Telecom and Datacentres

Main Accountabilities

  • Support the continuous evolution and development of the Category area
  • Guide, support and develop best practices with Category support team(s) and associated functions
  • Act as Sourcing Business Partner to the Technology business with the sub-category accountability, leading from the front and ensuring the back-end process efficiencies
  • Develop productive relationships with other regional Technology sourcing functions to share best practice and align on category strategies
  • Contribute to the design and execution of Category strategies, plans and projects
  • Deliver financial and other values to the business through introduction of leading practices 
  • Embed in the Category and deliver on ESG with a focus on Sustainability & Supplier Diversity objectives
  • Drive continues improvements and support digitalisation, working close colleagues in the regional and global teams
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Visa Europe Sourcing team.

 

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Understand Technology strategies and plans, and category spend, supplier landscape, leading practices and opportunities
  • Manage and build stakeholder relationships, know relevant business strategies, plans and priorities
  • Manage interregional Sourcing relationships, positively contribute to global collaboration and global category strategy creation and delivery
  • Support defining and executing the category strategy, through development and delivering on leading practice sourcing strategies based on the business plans and priorities.
  • Contribute to the short- and long-term Procurement Plan
  • Drive execution of powerful Sourcing strategies and benefits realisation
  • Leverage Ariba Sourcing modules and functionality to drive process cohesion and efficiency
  • Support business to optimize demand and specifications
  • Build, continuously develop and deploy Preferred Supplier Lists (PSL)
  • Contribute to strategic approach and embedding ESG, with focus on Sustainability and Diversity in the Technology supplier base
  • Be ambassador of the overall ESG & Supplier Diversity & Inclusion agenda making the better world!

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

•Ideally educated to degree level
•Postgraduate procurement accreditation preferred (CIPS or MIIAPS)
•Sourcing experience in Europe and/or other complex markets
•Proven track record in developing sourcing strategies and successfully leading sourcing and supplier management activities in Direct and/or Indirect category areas
•Proven capability in negotiating complex sourcing deals
•High level of subject matter expertise, with deep market and supplier knowledge
•Demonstrable influencing skills and senior stakeholder management
•Excellent project leadership and communication skills
•Team player with energy, pace and a track record of delivery.
