Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and versatile solutions and data architect, to support developing world-class sales tools and experiences. This role combines Data and Solution Architecture, Governance, and Solution Design. The ideal candidate will have a strong data and solution architecture background, with the ability to design and implement effective solutions that drive sales success. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Solution and Data Architecture

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of data sources, types and systems across the business, their potential use cases and proactively formulate recommendations to benefit the VAS Sales & Commercialization objectives.
  • Create a compelling and scalable strategy and architecture to deliver against business objectives, collaborating with other data, IT, and business functions to ensure a complete vision.
  • Continue the development of our proprietary Solution Mapping, evolving with the use of additional data sets to enhance.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Develop logic to enable the use of data to fulfil business objectives in collaboration with cross-functional colleagues
  • Lead in-depth discussions to define user flows and user experiences and assist partners in developing both frontend and backend infrastructure.

Solution/Data Policies and standards

  • Establish and enforce solution and data policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement data quality management frameworks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the wider team, product owners and others to ensure validity of Solution Mapping data.
  • Facilitate data stewardship and data ownership initiatives across the organization.

Solution Management

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their solution and data needs.
  • Create a robust operating model for enhancing and improving associated data.

Qualifications

Basic 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field with 8-9 or more years of work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Solution and data architecture, data governance, and Solution/Product Management roles.
  • You have strong knowledge of data management principles, data modelling, and database design.
  • Strong understanding of various IT systems, technologies, and architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
  • You are proficient using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and data quality management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of payments API technology, card processing solutions, and card operations.

Preferred 

  • You have 8-10 years of work experience with a technical degree (Computer Science, Data Science or related) 
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Certification in data management or data governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a plus.
  • Strong understand and experience with the payments industry, and associated products and services.

 

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 128,600.00 to 172,150.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
