We are looking for a Composite Design Engineer to join our team. The goal of a Composite Design Engineer at Wisk is to ensure that you use your technical acumen to drive program/technical decisions and objectives. You will be part of the Structures Interior IPT team team that is responsible for the aircraft structural configuration. 


In this role as part of the Structures IPT organization, you will act as a composite design engineer for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market. The successful candidate is respected in the aerospace engineering community as a knowledgeable and experienced designer who has direct hands-on experience developing and building type certified aircraft, from initial concept through to type design. 


This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.


What you will do:
  • As part of the Structures IPT organization, and deployed in an Structures Development you will act as a Composite Designer for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market 
  • You will support The Manager / Lead of IPT work pack for the design of the Aircraft Structure and Systems Installation. 
  • In some areas, you will be working closely with Supporting Engineering IPT WPs in the resolution of any cross WP integration issues 
  • As a Composite Design Engineer, you will help prepare, provide, and present progress reports together with supporting action plans to the applicable Integrated Product Team reviews 


Requirements:
  • You hold a University Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
  • You must be a composite laminate designer 
  • You must be knowledgeable in Fibre sim 
  • You must have knowledge of metallic design 
  • You possess a good understanding of all facets of systems/structures definition, integration, safety and certification processes 
  • This role may require some level of travel 


$85,946 - $101,113 a year
Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $85,946 - $101,113 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
