Business Development Director

Description

The Business Development Director is responsible for leading the agency’s business development initiatives and activities to meet agency goals as directed by the President, Chief Executive Officer. Ongoing responsibilities include continuous and proactive customer relationship management, database management, trade show attendance, marketing campaign creation, presentation development, and networking engagements. The Business Development Director draws on experience, strategic acumen and relationship-building abilities to play the most important role in new business. The role will be onsite in Charlotte five days a week unless travelling, which is expected 20-40% of the time. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Business Development Director

  • Identify and research opportunities 
  • Drive revenue by researching, developing relationships and acquiring high-value prospects
  • Attract additional clients by overseeing the sales funnel
  • Serve as an advocate and representative of our brand in the community
  • Prepare and deliver pitches and presentations to prospective clients
  • Create and foster positive relationships with potential clients
  • Develop strong rapport with internal stakeholders 
  • Act as the CRM expert in HubSpot and maintain all database information 
  • Run outbound campaigns (phone calls, emails, etc.) to create sales opportunities
  • Develop and present proposals customized for prospective clients 
  • Ensure regular client follow-up 
  • Manage the agency’s integrated, multichannel marketing efforts
  • Research, develop and maintain prospect lists classified by market and audiences
  • Create and manage landing pages in the content management system 
  • Support new and ongoing relationships with agency partners
  • Collaborate with team members to generate presentation content and related needs
  • Work collaboratively with agency teams to develop proposals and RFI/RFP responses
  • Manage virtual and in-person sales meetings

  • Develop strong relationships across all agency teams 
  • Represent the agency in a positive manner in all endeavors



Requirements

  • 7-10+ years related experience in marketing communications or a similar field preferred
  • A deep understanding of the advertising agency landscape, including various services offered (e.g., digital marketing, creative, media buying), and industry trends.
  • Experience with SOWs and the RFP process
  • Business development/sales experience required
  • CRM experience preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree
