Additional Job Description:

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and Department of Neurology are recruiting a Sports/TBI Neurologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. 
 

The NeuroPerformance Innovation Center at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is a first-in-the-nation program. The Center houses a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary concussion and brain injury team of neurologists, physiatrists, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, and therapists (physical and occupational). This team is part of a hospital-wide Neurotrauma program composed of emergency physicians, neurosurgeons, neurointensivists, and TBI outreach coordinators.
 
 

Patient populations include mild, moderate and severe TBI patients from various mechanisms; falls, MVCs, sports, work injuries, and domestic violence. Special community programs include youth sports outreach, domestic violence support, and first responders. The program is supported by a full time PhD researcher dedicated to neuroperformance studies.   
 

Duties: The successful candidate will practice sports neurology at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Innovation Center. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows  
 

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. He or she must have completed a neurology residency program as well as neurology/TBI fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified or eligible in neurology with additional board certification in sports neurology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
