Pros

Management is very engaged in career development. The work environment is very inclusive and supportive especially within the Risk and Compliance business unit. The ability to work remote and support is extraordinary. in Overall I am very happy with my position and the bank including benefits and the continued effort to make them better.

Cons

I don't have any cons to speak to.

Byline Bank commits to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) as the foundation and catalyst for honoring our employees, engaging our customers and community, creating a great place to work, and ultimately driving business success.

We pledge to create an environment where every employee can bring their authentic self to work and know that their unique background, ethnicity, experiences, perspective, and contributions service to strenghten  us and where growth opportunities exist at all levels.

For our customers and community, we strive that you see through our actions that we value each of your and know we are better together. We move forward challenging ourselves to live this vision every day.

Working closely with the DEI Council we have landed on four strategic areas of focus to activate the vision - Workforce, Workplace, Community and Marketplace.

DEI Council -

The DEI Council was formed in 2020 led by John Barkidjija, Head of CRE & Specialty Finance, and Dana Traci, Chief Human Resources Officer, serving as co-executive sponsors along with a diverse cross-section of Bank employees to drive DEI initiatives, achieve key goals and enact change.

Employee resource groups -

Employee-led ERGs take center stage within our Workplace priorities with a focus on creating a supportive and safe space to grow and develop at Byline.

Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) include:

  • Women Empowered by Byline (WEBB)
  • Black ERG
  • Latinx ERG
  • Asian ERG
  • LGBTQ ERG

See our diversity and inclusion section on our company website for more updates and programs on diversity and inclusion at Byline Bank.

Careers

Our 100 Year Legacy

A community & commercial bank born and bred in Chicago.

Our name comes from the journalistic term for authorship. At Byline, we’re a bank that believes in putting our name behind everything we do and we’re here to roll up our sleeves and help our customers write their stories.

Our name may be young, but our history of helping local neighbors, nonprofits, and businesses reaches back to 1914. Our renaming in 2013 signaled a union of our multiple local community bank brands to solidify our commitment to Chicagoland.

Diversity

Inspired By Diversity & Inclusion

We strive to build a team that reflects and supports the communities we live in, because our unique experiences are what make us stronger.

Pride Fest

For over 40 years, the Broadway Byline branch has been in the neighborhood proudly supporting banking and lending assistance to the LGBTQ community. Our bond to our communities always included doing right by our customers and upholding diversity and inclusion. Our branches, customers and employees reflect the vibrant and diverse communities in which we serve. When local business flourish, so does the neighborhood and its residents.

Women Empowered By Byline

Women Empowered by Byline (WEBB) is a group created to develop, advance and retain women leaders at Byline through strategic forums, as well as learning and development opportunities to create a culture where women succeed. Sponsored at the Executive level, the group meets regularly and nurtures our future leadership through networking and mentorship.

Community

Committed to Community

We believe the role of a community bank should be to meaningfully support our local neighborhoods, and to be the bank our customers deserve. In 2019 we supported:

  • 851 hours of community service
  • 144 Byliners volunteered at sponsorship events
  • $585,000 in sponsorships

At Byline, we take our role of participating in and investing in our local communities very seriously. Community engagement and support is the bedrock of our success, and we’re committed to helping the local communities in which we live and work to grow and thrive—today and into the future. Byline places great value in community reinvestment, charitable giving, community outreach, employee volunteerism, and financial literacy.

  • $20.2 million community-development investments
  • 32 community-development grants
  • $80 million community-development loans
  • 1,232 CRA volunteer hours
  • 55 financial-literacy sessions
