To help our company continue to deliver on this commitment we create our Global Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Council. Acting as an advisory body to our CEO & leadership team, this council spearheads initiatives to enhance diversity, inclusion and belonging across CMC, maintaining our focus in this critical area.
Employee Resource Groups (ERG)
In every part of our business we are committed to an inclusive environment where people feel comfortable being themselves. We want our people to know that all voices are heard, all cultures respected and that a variety of perspectives are not just welcome, they are essential to our success. We sponsor Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in the US and globally, which have a mandate to drive an inclusive and welcoming culture, and which encompass a range of initiatives, such as sustainability, STEM, and personal development, that the members care about. We also have affinity groups, which are independent, voluntary groups of employees, such as Women@Work, who share common interests and are encouraged and empowered to support and develop each other.
Diversity in STEM Education
Not only do we strive to advocate for diversity within our own corporate culture but we seek to ways to support diversity in our industry and through STEM education with the donation of time and resources to organizations such as the John C. Dunham Stem Partnership School at Aurora University and Techbridge Girls.
