-They struggle to define a clear progression plan (It can be very elusive what one has to do to progress in a role) -Promotion can take a while to happen due to waiting for someone to leave their current role or waiting for a new opportunity to arise -Progression/ Promotion can be somewhat limited (as of course, they cannot promote everyone) so you may find yourself being in the same role for a long time.At Funding Circle, we want our company to be as diverse as the small businesses and investors we serve! We recognise the power and value in building a diverse team, where people's skills and personalities complement each other and reflect the customers we are here to help.
Different perspectives lead to better outcomes and we see the positive impact of this in our teams every day. This is what drives innovation and allows us to deliver a best in class customer and employee experience.
Our diversity initiatives are some of the ways Funding Circle is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
Funding Circle UK Gender Pay Gap reporting
In 2017, the UK Government introduced a policy to support the progression of more women into senior roles in business and society. All organisations with more than 250 employees are required to report their 'Gender Pay Gap', which shows the percentage difference in mean and median hourly salary between all men and all women in an organisation, expressed as a percentage of men's earnings.
It is important to note that the Gender Pay Gap relates to what women and men are paid for the same or similar jobs or work of equal value. Women and men are paid equally at Funding Circle for performing the same roles.
Funding Circle UK's mean Gender Pay Gap of +18.5% is a result of a lower proportion of women in senior and mid-level roles, and in higher paid teams.
Our biggest focus - and the prevailing challenge for our industry - is to improve and strengthen gender diversity in our technology and capital market teams. We are also working hard to increase female representation at senior management levels through our recruitment and retention initiatives. It will require sustained effort over multiple years in order to bring about the required change. We are excited for this challenge, and believe Funding Circle will play a lead role in driving a sustainable, long-term shift in gender diversity for the FinTech industry.
