Pros

Seems to be a genuine interest in developing employees. Managers I have had seem to be less concerned with micro managing people and more concerned with managing resources to make sure you have what you need.

Cons

Deadlines can be crazy. People tend to throw out unrealistic timelines for projects and then try to blame others when they don't get it done.. but that isn't exclusive to here.
