Pros
MTG (specifically Macquarie Government) has some very friendly, and very intelligent people. When management is motivated to get something done, it'll get done. If you live in Sydney there are plenty of events to go to. Good work life balance for some roles.Cons
Without going on a tirade, MacGov has some serious issues: * Culture - Despite their company messaging, the organisation has serious accountability issues. Engineers that don't feel like doing their job are not held accountable to tasks that they have been told to do. Management will rarely pull staff into line unless you complain to them regularly, and even then repeat offenders are rarely repremanded. There are also individuals within the organisation that are straight up bullies that upper management refuses to do anything about, despite official complaint raised to HR. * Workload - While not the case for the role I was in, almost every area has underresourcing issues, leading to large amounts of staff burnout, defensive attitudes, and problems with supporting engineering solutions when a SME goes on a longer period of leave. * Misc - Other states are regularly left out of company events, with the focus being on Sydney, * Misc - Company is quick to remove people without thinking about the long term repercussions, making project managers redundant because they don't think they need them, then not even two months later complaining about not having enough project managers. * Work/Life Balance - Some peoples work life balance within the organisation is just simply not present. This can be seen in the amount of people burning out.Great Place to Work Certified - Great Place to Work #1 Tech Company 2023, Greatplacetowork, 2023 Cyber Security Award Finalist, World Communications Award, 2022
