Pros
I spent about three to four months in a role at TA and ended up deciding to leave under my own volition. The particular role at the particular time just wasn't a match unfortunately, but I'm grateful for the experience and the people that I got to meet while I was there. That said, I was there long enough to experience what it's like to work there, and there are a lot of positives. Let me list them here: - Growth Mindset: All across the company, everyone adheres to practices that will help you grow. There is genuine support, understanding, and space given for your individual improvement, and for the collective improvement of teams as a byproduct. Some companies will pitch this kind of thing during the recruiting process as an incentive, but TA follows through on it when you're through the door. - Great Humans Abound: In my time there, I witnessed a consistent theme across the company when it came to my colleagues - they all seemed to have a wonderful combination of subject matter expertise and humanity. This was refreshing, and greatly reduced the amount of interpersonal static that can happen in a work environment. - Ambitious: At TA everyone is highly driven looking to aim high, and to do it with integrity. As a Product person, this was nice to see an be a part of. - Trusting: I experienced very little micro-management (if at all) while I was at TA. When they hire you, they trust you to make the decisions that you were hired to make, and not just looking to make you do things "their way." - Great People in Management Positions: I found management at TA to strike the right balance of aptitude, ambition, people skills, structure, and accountability. Also high levels of integrity, professionalism, and even levity when it counted.Cons
In terms of cons, I really didn't experience a lot of them in my time there. For the sake of this review however, if I was going to offer a constructive critique, it would be that it seems like there is a bit of a hyper-focus on execution, at the expense of strategic ideation, vision creation, and innovation. I think if they could bolt their highly effective execution abilities onto some strategic visions that are in high demand within the market, they'd go to the moon.Inc 5000 Fastest Growing Companies, Inc 5000, 2017 Mary Catherine Strobel Corporate Volunteerism Award, Hands On Nashville, 2016
