DISCOVER. LEARN. IMPROVE.
Internationality: We unite people from more than 140 countries, and approximately 43% of our employees are non-German citizens. To provide a welcoming culture we provide support from registration processes to mentoring along the way.
Women in Leadership: We are dedicated to increase representation of women in leadership positions and therefore strive to raise the percentage of female managers at the first level below the Management Board (SVPs) to 20% and at the second level below the management board (VPs) to 30% by 2022.
Inclusive Language: We aim to increase gender diversity and therefore review gender biased language when it comes to our job advertisements, include our diversity promise and focus on gender inclusive job titles for German job ads.
International Women's Day: Every year, a growing group of Zalando employees organised by Zalando's Diversity Guild host events and activities in celebration of Women's Day Celebration in March. We seek to raise awareness for creating more diverse and inclusive workplaces and foster an open discussion of how, we as an organisation, can improve.
Christopher Street Day: Zalando's employee LGBTQI+ group coordinates Zalando’s participation in PRIDE Month and Christopher Street Day parade each year. With those events we want to celebrate the LGBTQI+ community within Zalando and throughout Berlin.
Diversity Day: The Diversity Day, established by the Charta der Vielfalt, offers the opportunity to honour the importance of diversity as part of our mission. We celebrate the day with events in our warehouses and Customer Care office.
Mentorship Program: We launched a mentorship with the initial purpose to support women to develop into leaders and support access to new opportunities for everyone across the company. We help mentees find the right mentor, and shape their experience. More than 400 Zalando employees have participated in our pilot program, and we expect this to grow as an ongoing program.
