Strategy

On Instagram, I've created a visually appealing grid for Tiny Trips with a mix of dreamy destination and hotel imagery, vintage and nostalgia-inducing photos, and graphic design text posts featuring quotes, brand value props, travel ideas, and more. Captions often reference articles or hotel content that can be found on the site via the link in bio.

I've used Instagram Stories to engage followers with fun travel and hotel polls, share recommendations from micro-influencers, ask user research questions (like "What's your biggest blocker to taking a Tiny Trip?" with the questions box), highlight cool posts from the community, and share grid posts for wider reach.

On Instagram Reels, I've created montage videos from my own travels, and I've come up with a video footage request list for anyone on my team to use when they go on work trips themselves.

Performance

I grew the Tiny Trips Instagram account from <100 to over 5,000 followers in under a year and a half. Our followers are highly engaged, and I've used hashtag research to organically reach as many as 11,000 accounts in a single post. Our posts are regularly saved and shared by dozens, and sometimes even hundreds, of people. Over the last six months, our average engagement rate of posts has been 4.21% โ€” an extremely successful measure compared to the industry average of about 1-2%. On multiple top-performing posts, we've seen engagement rates over 18% and as many as 95 clicks to the link in bio.
