Job Description

AbbVie's Operations Development Program (ODP) is a global three-year rotational leadership development program. Throughout the three diverse and challenging twelve-month rotations, the ODP members will develop exceptional functional and leadership traits by working on a wide range of projects while providing exposure to different leaders in the company. The program provides developmental experiences that places aspiring  professionals on a fast track to future operations leadership opportunities at AbbVie.

The goal of the program is to identify and develop AbbVie’s future leaders. The incumbents will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • ODP members will spend three (3) years as a full-time salary employee in the program, completing three (3) separate professional work assignments geared towards the following potential opportunities:
    • Engineering
    • Manufacturing
    • Quality
    • Science & Technology
    • Purchasing and Supplier Management
    • Supply Chain
  • Be a regular full-time AbbVie’s employee and qualify for the same competitive salary and benefits as other AbbVie employees.
  • Develop a well-rounded skill set through each of the ODP’s assignments.
  • Have the opportunity to relocate to various sites globally (according to business need).
  • Be paired with a mentor to assist in the development of the ODP’s career.
  • Create a personalized development plan to serve as a step-by-step guide towards the experiences, knowledge, and resources necessary to achieve the ODP’s career goals.
  • Obtain training customized to support the ODP’s individual growth and development.
  • Report to a department manager in each assignment who will oversee the day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Receive leadership training in collaboration with other functional development programs once a year.
  • Conform to EH&S management system requirements and compliance obligations, promote continuous improvement, and consider EH&S aspects during the design and change process. Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Completing final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must graduate with a bachelor’s degree prior to the intended full-time start date.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills (i.e., extracurricular activities or projects).
  • Mobility is a key requirement. Members may be required to experience at least one (1) assignment based in one of our U.S. Operations Plants and will rotate to different sites with each rotation based on business need.
  • Minimum of one (1) internship or co-op completed.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship.

Additional Information

Significant Work Activities:

  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
  • Continuous walking for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
  • Frequent to continuous computer usage (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) is required
  • Work in a clean room environment

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

  • We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.​

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​
