ElectronX™ is a new electricity market designed to enable precision risk management, volatility hedging opportunities, and the monetization of power assets for all energy market participants. As a CFTC-regulated financial exchange (subject to approval), ElectronX will offer derivatives products that capture the intraday price fluctuations of our rapidly changing electrical grid—helping to smooth the financial path of clean energy adoption across the nation.

Position Overview:

The Market Operations Associate will play a critical role in real-time market monitoring, surveillance, and operational support while contributing to the firm's broader mission of building highly automated and efficient market operations systems. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and works closely with Compliance and Technology teams.

What will you be doing?

Real-Time Market Monitoring & Surveillance

• Monitor real-time trading activity and market conditions during market hours (8am-9pm ET)

• Evaluate price adjustments and trade cancellation requests according to established procedures

• Document and escalate suspicious activity to Compliance when warranted

• Maintain detailed logs of all market events and actions taken

Process Automation & Improvement

• Work with Technology team to enhance automated alert systems and monitoring tools

• Develop and maintain Python scripts for data analysis and reporting automation

• Create dashboards and visualization tools to improve market monitoring efficiency

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation

• Document and maintain standard operating procedures

• Assist in testing and implementing new automated surveillance features

Operational Support

• Support daily operations including trading hours, system status monitoring

• Assist with participant onboarding and support

• Coordinate with Compliance on investigations and information requests

• Help prepare regular reports for management and regulators

• Participate in business continuity planning and testing

What we need from you?

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science or related field

• 2+ years experience in financial markets operations, trading, or related role

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure

• Experience with financial market surveillance or compliance

• Programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages

• Knowledge of electricity markets and derivatives

• Familiarity with market data analysis and visualization tools

• Understanding of exchange or clearing house operations
