Accounting Associate - Northbrook, IL

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated, customer service-oriented, and well-organized professional to grow their career as an Accounting Associate with our Client Services and Accounts Receivable team, located at our company headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate contact with clients to confirm the status of outstanding invoices and obtain payment estimated time of arrival
  • Ensure timely follow-ups on outstanding invoices until payments are resolved
  • Confirm necessary requests are completed and addressed
  • Document and maintain proper communication history on invoice payment status for feedback to internal managers and supervisors
  • Identify and communicate potential client services concerns and facilitate proactive intervention steps
  • Perform general administrative functions, including research, data entry, e-filing, scanning, etc.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
  • One to two years of experience in client services or a similar role
  • Strong service orientation and ability to deal professionally and courteously with internal and external clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Detail-oriented nature with a high capacity for learning and retaining information
  • Team player who works proactively, takes initiative in solving problems, makes themselves available, and takes actions beyond normal responsibilities
  • Ability to coordinate with other departments on client-related matters
  • Understanding of general accounting principles and ability to apply them to the daily workload
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; prior experience with Deltek Vision preferred

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. This position requires visual acuity and listening ability along with the ability to read and write. Individuals must have the dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, fax, copier, telephone, voice mail system, and other office equipment. The position mainly involves working at a desk and requires the ability to remain for extended periods at a workstation.

Annual starting base salary (gross): $40,000 - $51,700. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on several factors including consideration for a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base salary is one component of our total compensation package for employees.
