Position Title: Accounting Coordinator - Collections
Reports To: Senior Accounting Coordinator
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000 per year commensurate with experience
Purpose: Manage company collections efforts and drive a positive customer experience. Responsible for performing tasks involving the collections of delinquent accounts, resolving and reconciling customer account discrepancies, and processing invoice adjustments. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.

Responsibilities:
- Handle collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast-paced goal-oriented environment
- Accountable for reducing delinquency on accounts
- Review customer aging report and contact customers with past due invoices
- Update account notes daily in Salesforce with status of payment, contacts, etc.
- Research invoice status via multiple customer portals and/or email addresses to ensure invoice due dates are accurate in the system prior to contacting customers
- Contact customer if invoice was short paid to gather necessary information to determine the need for an adjustment, and process adjustments accordingly
- Involve project management and/or sales teams when appropriate to facilitate communication with the customer regarding collection issues
- Assist with AR billing functions such as creating deposit invoices, uploading invoices into customer portals, etc
- Assist AP Clerks with check run duties including, but not limited to, pulling invoices and ensuring accuracy in Salesforce
- Perform clerical/administrative functions including; data entry, typing, file maintenance, document preparation
- Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
- In order to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the job, one must possess the following computer and program skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook and Word
- Salesforce/Accounting Seed knowledge/experience a plus but not required
- Overall comfortability with navigating through multiple windows, screens and/or programs simultaneously
- Knowledge of Quickbooks a plus but not required (legacy system will be used to look up historical information)
Certificates/Licenses Required
Language Ability
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Math Ability
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
