Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist position will be responsible ensuring the timely processing of vendor invoices and sales tax returns, to meet any requirements set by the local jurisdictions and vendor contracts. This person will also match internal PO’s to vendor invoices and validate the invoices to ensure accuracy and that company expectations are met. The position will also need to ensure work is completed to meet month, quarter, and year end reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records
• Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables
• Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes
• Matching invoices to purchase orders and e-payment, prior to bill payment
• Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment
• Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner
• Prepare tax returns for various states and local jurisdictions.

• Adjust payments in finance system for FX rates
• Maintaining vendor files
• Maintaining W-9s and preparing 1099s
• Reconciling vendor statements, including researching and correcting discrepancies
• Assisting in month-end closing
• Audit credit card bills and reconcile credit card statements
• Update/maintain accounts payable master files
• Reconciliation of Vendor Accounts and Account Payable master files

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Studies or equivalent experience
• An understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills is required
• 5+ years of experience in a comparable role
• Excellent in MS Excel and developing reports
• Oracle Financials is desired
• Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
• Team-player with the ability to work with our international offices and customers
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Sales and use tax filing experience/knowledge

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness and ability to attend meetings and field communication outside of normal working hours to accommodate teams based internationally, as needed
• Ability to work effectively with clients, senior management, staff and vendors
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.

The minimum expected salary for this role is $68,000 per year.
