Salary commensurate with education and experience
The Department of Media Arts at Middle Tennessee State University has periodic openings for part-time instructors to teach various classes in the media arts, including video and film production, animation, interactive media, photography, and media management.
The successful candidates are expected to possess a professional level of skills and knowledge relevant to the class and be able to effectively teach the required material to the students.
Instructors should have a minimum of a master’s degree and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline they are teaching or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes.
Current professional experience in one or more of these areas is required: filmmaking, TV or video production, live media production, animation, interactive media, photography, and/or media management. Persons with exceptional professional experiences, and no graduate education, may sometimes be considered for part-time positions.

Official transcripts from each degree-granting institution must be provided. If transcripts are from a non-U.S. institution, the prospective faculty member must have the transcripts both translated into English and evaluated by an approved credential evaluation organization. Likewise, if selected for an appointment, you will be required to provide letters of PROFESSIONAL recommendation from three sources. The letters should be on letterhead, must be current and specific to the job posting, bear a physical signature, and may not be provided from a general dossier. The letters must be submitted directly to the department chair from the recommenders and cannot be provided by the candidate.
