ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Professional Standards Bureau is seeking qualified applicants for an Administrative Assistant I position. This position requires a high level of confidentiality and professional discretion. It is a supervisory position, overseeing three employees. Applicants should have strong leadership and management skills. Duties consist of helping sworn and civilian personnel related to internal investigations. The position works closely with all bureau personnel on quality assurance of internal investigations and reviews final investigations to ensure all the required documentation is included.

This position also ensures required information relating to investigations is properly input and stored in the department's internal affairs software program. Applicants must have proficient computer skills with a minimum of an intermediate level experience using Microsoft Suite and Adobe Pro. Applicants must have the ability to work independently, efficiently, and to produce very high-quality work with minimal supervision and direction. The applicant must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, troubleshoot as necessary, communicate effectively, and be detail oriented.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Proficient using advanced Microsoft Office functions in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient business communication, written and oral, including public speaking experience.
  • Knowledgeable of computer database applications and the ability to maintain and query data.

SALARY


Pay Range: $22.61 to $44.77 per hour.

Hiring Range: $22.61 to $38.68 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of paraprofessional experience in governmental research and finance administration or paraprofessional experience aiding an administrative officer in technical and administrative problems and affairs.
  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • Experience supervising employees.
  • Experience processing records requests.
  • Experience with report writing and creating / managing organizational charts.
  • Experience handling confidential information concerning employee transfers.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and standard computer uses and applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, WebEx, Teams, SAP, etc.)
