NRDC is seeking a Administrative Assistant to work with the International team in our Washington, DC office.
Position Summary
NRDC is seeking an Administrative Assistant to work in our Washington DC office. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to multiple NRDC staff who work within the International Program’s Canada Division. The Canada Division works to protect northern forests which are critical to the climate, biodiversity and Indigenous communities, through a range of tactics including work to advance Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs), consumer education and market campaigns, and advancing policies to protect climate critical forests at the provincial, state and federal levels. The successful candidate must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be able to handle tasks such as: management of budgets, contracts and processing expenses, formatting and proofreading documents, coordinating and booking travel, scheduling meetings and coordinating logistics for meetings and events. French proficiency is a benefit but not required.
The Administrative Assistant will provide team members with critical administrative support, enabling the team to run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates travel for team meetings, public events, conferences, and events.

Provides logistical support for meetings, public events, conferences, and events

Serves as a subject matter expert on expense reports, providing guidance, assistance and training to team members as needed.

Reviews team members’ expense reports to ensure proper coding of expenses.

Processes invoices for the team, including proper coding and tracking.

Coordinates and schedules internal and external meetings

Prepares agendas, captures notes and reports out action items for assigned meetings.

Orders and ships supplies as needed (e.g. to remote workers).

Prints, copies, files and distributes documents and other materials.

Follows up with team members to ensure timely compliance with organization-wide deadlines.

Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. For this position, the salary is $50,000 to $58,000. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
