is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant, whose main role is to provide administrative support for the research activities of Dr. Pardis Sabeti, who is an active faculty member with an extensive sponsored research portfolio. Individuals seeking a career in research administration are highly encouraged to apply.
Working closely with the Senior Operations Manager and the PI, the Administrative Assistant will support general administrative responsibilities, social media and other communications, as well as other coordinating activities. The Administrative Assistant also supports the team to make sure the PI is prepared for all daily activities, which include preparation and gathering of meeting materials and tracking of ongoing projects or other activities.
Specific responsibilities include:
Administrative:
Provides necessary administrative support on request of the Administrative Manager and lab PI’s.
Coordinates student intern and rotation requests. Point person for communication between prospective students and lab members.
Liaises with lab members on special projects and events.
Contributes to the maintenance of social media accounts and lab internal/external websites.
Supports PI in their communications.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience in a professional administrative support position, with experience in an academic or research environment, preferred
Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to learn rapidly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of confidentiality, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.
Must be highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps. Working knowledge or ability to quickly learn Publisher, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and WordPress.
