Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle department HR requests/inquiries (new hires, separations, visa renewals, etc.)
  • Manage administrative activities (resources, personnel, payroll)
  • Review and submit funding changes, Faculty Salary Calculation worksheets
  • Prepare one-time payments
  • Oversee IT computer networks, troubleshoot issues
  • Install software and upgrades, recommend hardware/software replacements
  • Maintain and back up internal network servers
  • Analyze production database data for efficiency
  • Address customer service problems and vendor concerns
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies
  • Assist with budget maintenance
  • Utilize web-based applications for administrative tasks
  • Manage department and faculty appointments
  • Provide HR support for Blood System Research Institute (BSRI)
  • Support strategic planning and development
  • Follow up on department requests for completion
  • Collect faculty time-off requests

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.
