About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions of the Graduate School of Engineering (GSE), the Admissions Assistant will support graduate admissions related activities in GSE. The Admissions Assistant will implement procedures for entering and managing application information into the University Inquiry and Application Processing Database System. The individual must be pro-active, work independently and, in collaboration with the GSE Management team, develop solutions to problems as they arise and identify opportunities to streamline and improve the electronic flow of information through the admissions systems. The Admissions Assistant will implement strategies for accurate and timely processing of applications, review departmental / program accept/deny recommendations for compliance with GSE requirements. The individual will provide support in the preparation of visa documents and other required immigration forms for new and current international students alongside the Office of Global Services. The Admissions Assistant will support needs for data collection and will also serve as a customer service contact in GSE to respond to e-mails, phone calls or drop-in visits from prospective graduate students regarding admissions related questions and concerns, as well as assisting the College of Engineering (COE) faculty with general requests. Working with the Director of Graduate Admissions, the Admissions Assistant may be asked to assist in the graduate recruitment function at university and corporate events. The candidate will also prepare admissions related reports using the Inquiry and Application Processing Database and communicate with applicants and using the Contact system.
