Join AECOM’s Transport Group in South-East Queensland as a Technical Director, with a strong focus on design management. You will step into a dynamic role that blends leadership, innovation and project delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to guide a talented multidisciplinary group of professionals as a project leader for the delivery of complex, region-shaping projects.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Oversee the design, coordination, and successful delivery of major transport infrastructure projects. Your technical management skills will be crucial in ensuring that designs are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and implement best practices in design management to drive efficiency and excellence in project outcomes.
• Cultivate a culture of excellence, inspiring teams to deliver high-quality results that achieve or exceed client expectations.
• Engage regularly with clients, allowing you to forge strong relationships and truly understand their needs, which is essential for driving satisfaction and securing repeat business. Your reputation for delivering exceptional results will help enhance AECOM's standing in the market.
• Identify opportunities to expand our portfolio, lead proposal efforts, and enhance AECOM’s presence in the market. Your skills and vision will be instrumental in winning new projects and shaping the future of our strategic initiatives.

What will a day in this role look like: 

• Lead design and coordination of major transport infrastructure projects, focusing on technical management and relationships.
• Collaborate with an industry-leading team on large-scale transport projects across Queensland and Australia.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and partners.
• Drive productivity and innovation by leading digital delivery initiatives and integrating cutting-edge technologies.

What are we looking for from you?  

• Tertiary qualification in engineering with 20+ years of experience, suitable to hold (or obtain) RPEQ status in Queensland.
• Proven experience as Design Manager for major transport infrastructure projects, including work with TMR.
• Knowledge of the Queensland consulting services market, including Business Cases, D&C, and ECI/ETI delivery.
• Strong leadership with a focus on achieving results, growing teams, and balancing priorities.
• Excellent client relationships, business development experience, and understanding of resourcing planning and forecasting.
