Backend Engineer, Spark at Aerospike in Remote

We are looking for a Backend Engineer, Spark to work on the product's middle-tier and backend development. Industry experience building highly scalable distributed systems in Java and Scala is preferred. You will have opportunities to work with new technologies and own/maintain highly visible open-source projects. The code produced must be high-quality and well-tested. This is a modern database... optimized for the latest advancements in SSDs and in memory (such as Intel's Optane persistent memory.) Having the database is one thing and a good thing but writing apps around it requires integrations with other modern tools where the Aerospike DB can be a huge benefit. These systems include Flink, Spark, Kafka, pyTorch, Tensorflow, and others. This is a remote-friendly position in the United States. Responsibilities: Strong ownership of the full backend stack - from design through to deployment and beyond Design, develop and maintain Aerospike Connect projects that enable cloud-based ecosystem to utilize the speed of Aerospike DB Work with Solutions Architecture team and customers to understand requirements Analyze and improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability of the platform Qualifications: 2 years hands-on design and coding with Go, Java or Scala Knowledge with big data ecosystem and cloud based technology Proficient understanding of data infrastructure and backend systems Experience with NoSQL database. Self-starter that demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision Big plus: experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark, Flink, Kafka Plus: Python Willing to learn Salary Range: $80K -- $100K Minimum Qualification Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
