Aerospike launched our Managed Service offering in 2019. This is a full-service solution for customers who want to leverage our expertise running and maintaining upper and lower Aerospike environments in one of the public clouds.

Where you fit it

The Cloud Operations Engineer Tier 2 (COE2) is a member of our global cloud operations team that is responsible for 24x7x365 uptime and availability of our clusters under management. Each COE will be a member of a regional team but will work with our customers across the globe. This is a senior level position and is responsible for deploying and maintaining customer environments and clusters. Members of this team are expected to contribute to the continued development of our automation tools and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Be an Aerospike technical expert. Understand deployment patterns and all configurations that support these patterns.
• Work in a highly collaborative team environment to design and implement fault-tolerant/highly available and scalable infrastructure on the public clouds.
• Provision and configure customer infrastructure and software.
• Execute cluster lifecycle runbooks as needed.
• Support Aerospike's commitment to security and compliance by supporting voluntary and compulsory compliance efforts.
• Participate in the Aerospike Cloud Managed Service Tier 2 on-call rotation.
• Create design specifications and demonstrate solutions with detailed documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts.

Essential Technical Skills

Required:

• Excellent English language communication skills, verbal and written
• 4-8 years experience with:
• Running production workloads in one of the public cloud providers: AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies with automation frameworks like Ansible, Terraform, Vault, Consul and CI/CD tooling
• Linux administration and troubleshooting
• Scripting languages such as Python and go
• Command-line utilities such as bash, grep, ssh, powershell, etc.
• Version control systems such as git

Desired Experience with:

• Experience managing and configuring complex multi VPC, multi region, multi cloud network architectures
• Monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
• JIRA for issue tracking
• Agile software methodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban
• Aerospike database (development operations focus) or similar distributed NoSQL databases
• Experience in managing customer data using various cloud providers while running under SOC 2 and or ISO27001
