Job Title: Maintenance MechanicJob DescriptionWork independently on established preventive maintenance procedures and be responsible for making all adjustments and repairs as required. The role involves working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, changing bearings, gears, and fuses, sharpening tools, and making plant repairs to ensure continuous operations. You will also train and lead others in proper and safe work techniques, prepare and maintain written documentation, and perform general duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager or plant management. Once permanent, you will need to be available to travel to different plants, especially in Lakeland.Responsibilities• Perform preventive maintenance procedures independently.• Work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.• Change bearings, gears, and fuses.• Sharpen tools as necessary.• Make plant repairs to ensure continuous operations.• Train and lead others in proper and safe work techniques.• Prepare and maintain written documentation as required.• Perform general duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager or plant management.• Travel to different plants, especially in Lakeland, once permanent.Essential Skills• 5+ years of related work experience on industrial equipment.• Experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair.• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, maintenance techniques, welding, and assembly/disassembly.• Proficiency in electrical and PLC programming.• Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).• Valid FL Driver's License with a good driving record.• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Additional Skills & Qualifications• High school diploma or equivalency.• 5+ years of experience in MIG welding and fabrication.• Proficiency in maintaining documented periodic training.Why Work Here?Once converted to a permanent position, you will receive a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, steel toe voucher, PTO, and holiday pay. Exposure to vibrations, loud noises, and dust is common. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally, as well as climbing, stooping, bending, and working in awkward positions. The shift is from 7 AM to 5 PM (schedule subject to change) and requires traveling 25% of the year, typically once a month to Lakeland, with all travel expenses covered by the company.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Medley, Florida.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
