Data Lead

Air is the first Creative Ops platform: a system of record for creative teams. Our product automates the mindless tasks that creatives and marketers do every day to manage content, unlocking creativity through image recognition, automated versioning, and approval workflows. Air launched in March 2021 and is backed by world-class venture capital firms including Tiger Global, Headline Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, WndrCo, and Slack Ventures.

This is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance at least 3 days/week.

The Role

We are hiring a Data Lead to oversee how we use data to make decisions. This person will build upon our existing technical foundations and will partner with our leadership team on company priorities. They will manage a data engineer on day one, will be empowered to grow the team as needed, and will report to the Head of Finance & BizOps.

Key responsibilities of the role day to day will include:

  • Business Partnership:
    • Build deep relationships with functional leaders to understand each team’s priorities.
    • Establish operating cadence to consistently surface insights and recommendations.
  • Insights & Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain company-wide and functional-level (product, sales, marketing, customer) dashboards for key metrics.
    • Drive actionable insights through data analysis and support key business decisions.
  • Advanced Analytics:
    • Drive exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden trends, anomalies and form perspectives on actionable opportunities.
    • Build predictive analytics and other advanced insights to help improve growth, product usage and customer retention.
  • Building Team:
    • Build and scale the data team by ramping up key headcount, system, and/or processes
    • Manage the data engineering team and continuously improve data models and data governance to support business scalability and growth.

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in an analytical, data-driven, and/or consultative role
  • Experience in an in-house data role at a technology company
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, dbt, git, and at least one BI tool; ideally capable in Python or R
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to details.
  • Already managed people or ready to manage immediately

The compensation range for this role is CAD $140,000 to $210,000.
