Are you an experienced Medical Laboratory Professional looking to contribute to a dedicated healthcare team? The SFIHC Clinical Laboratory is seeking skilled Medical Technologists and Medical Technicians to perform vital diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures that support patient care.
Position Overview:
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician at SFIHC, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of standardized and specialized procedures in Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Phlebotomy. You will also operate the RPMS (Resource Patient Management System) to process patient specimens and report test results.
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing, including maintenance of diagnostic equipment, manual procedures, and quality control.
-Conduct phlebotomy procedures across all age groups, utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment (e.g., venipuncture, capillary sticks).
-Maintain accurate records for patient results, demographics, and quality control (QC) data.
-Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to testing procedures, analyzers, and specimen integrity.
-Ensure patient safety by following ID protocols and maintaining confidentiality.
-Participate in start-up, shut-down, and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.
-Collaborate with healthcare teams and other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic services.
-Adhere to safety, infection control, and universal precaution protocols, including proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related science (Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology).
Certification: Must hold current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Lab Scientist, or Clinical Lab Scientist (ASCP, AMT, AAB).
Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience in clinical laboratory settings, performing high-complexity tests (Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Urinalysis, etc.).
Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Includes two 15-minute personal breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
Overtime is not authorized.
