Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Alarm.com is seeking an HR professional to uphold the employee experience as a partner and consultant to our customer support and training teams. The Senior HR Business partner is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full-cycle Human Resources support while managing a small onsite HR team. As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in driving company culture, fostering employee engagement, and optimizing performance by collaborating closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure alignment between business objectives and HR strategies. We aim to build a high-performing HR team that effectively supports the needs of our organization. Each team member plays a crucial role in achieving this objective.

What will I be doing?

  • Be a trusted advisor to leaders, managers, and individual team members to help them deliver their best work every single day and coach on a variety of people issues.
  • Lead and manage a small team of HR professionals, ensuring they understand and effectively carry out their roles and responsibilities and provide guidance in their professional growth and development. 
  • Partner with the business on organizational design, workforce planning, and skill development.
  • Provide compensation support including salary planning, promotions and incentive programs.
  • Partner with the business to lead performance management and talent development.
  • Work with managers and employees to address various employee relations issues.
  • Ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
  • Work with the recruiting team on creating an aggressive recruitment strategy to hire customer-centric technical support staff.
  • Advise and direct on matters related to compliance and employment law.
  • Work closely with the HR leadership team on company-wide HR initiatives including HRIS enhancements, organizational effectiveness, benefits and compensation strategy and training and development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of HR Business Partner experience with at least two years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong employee relations background
  • Performance management, change management, and compensation experience are also highly desirable.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - focused on results.
  • Strong experience with (and interest in) coaching and developing employees and managers.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment.
  • Prior experience supporting nonexempt employee populations is a plus.
  • PHR or SPHR preferred.
