Linux Analyst

Position : Linux AnalystLocation : Florida, FLJob PurposeProvide Linux Server administration as a member of the CBTS team. Execute procedures for break/fix repair, change requests, and scheduled maintenance. Responsible for assisting in the implementation and support of Windows devices. Responsible for customer Linux Server environment and procedure documentation.Essential Functions• 20% - Write, and maintain systems documentation; assist other team members to develop procedures and guidelines for implementation and management of Linux Server administration• 60% - Provide Linux Server administration as a member of the CBTS team• 15% - Configuration of Linux Servers devices based on Tier 2 and Tier 3 design• 5% - Linux Server analysis and patch managementExperience• 2 to 3 years of experience• Experience with physical (Dell, HP, IBM) and virtual (VMware) servers• Experience coordinating a patch management program and related tools• Working with troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup• General understanding of IP sub netting including variable length subnet masksEducation• Two years of College or Technical School resulting in an Associate's Degree or equivalentCertifications, Accreditations, Licenses• A+ certification, Network+ certification• Microsoft MCP above certification a huge plusSpecial Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities• Hands-on experience with Linux Operating System• Working knowledge of TCP/IP• Basic understanding of SNMP• Working knowledge of Windows Clustering is a plus• Microsoft Exchange and SQL administration is a plus• Linux experience is a plus• VMware experience is a plusSupervisory ResponsibilitiesNo Supervisory ResponsibilityMiscellaneousResponsible for working with other members of the CBTS team in the domain area of responsibility of the position to broaden the knowledge base within the teamCBTS serves enterprise and midmarket clients in all industries across the United States and Canada.
