In pursuit of this, our 50+ person global Design Studio provides the user research, UX, and brand design for Kindle E-readers, Kindle apps for phones & tablets, Author & Publisher tools, and book shopping experiences used by millions of readers and thousands of authors around the world. We are looking for a passionate, design-focused, and customer-obsessed UX designer to join our team.In this role you will own driving the customer experience and design while building a new, best-in-class internal content risk management tool.As a Senior UX Designer, you will be trusted to operate with independence and ownership, including in areas where the program strategy is still being defined. Informing your judgement is deep knowledge and practical experience in UX best practices & processes, product design and interactive design. Additionally, you have experience with service design and successfully launched B2C and/or B2B web-based portals that have delivered results.You invent, evolve, improve, and simplify in a manner that scales across multiple teams, feature types, and development methodologies. You are flexible and comfortable with ambiguity, and adapt your approach to meet the needs of a broad set of partners. At the same time, you are highly collaborative with both product and engineering partners, adept at driving a multi-tenant customer experience vision.Key job responsibilities• Create user-centered designs and workflows by considering feedback, site metrics, and usability findings• Use & contribute to business requirements and customer research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements• Design the visual style, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences• Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-through’s and prototypes• Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications, design patterns and documentation• Develop streamlined prioritization and work processes in collaboration with product and engineering partnersA day in the life• You will work with product managers, software developers, and content strategist to create elegant design solutions• You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and researchers across the company to develop design strategies and deliver results for the customerAbout The TeamWe are a diverse, collaborative group with a passion for crafting exceptional experiences to help our authors and publishers reach readers. We hope you'll join us.The team is largely based in Seattle, but we are open to the following locations: Seattle, WA/New York, NY/San Francisco, CABasic Qualifications• 7+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience• Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices• Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity• Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, or similar• Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standardsPreferred Qualifications• Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature• Experience designing in an agile development environment• Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills• A sense of humor, pride in your work, and the ability to gracefully give and receive feedback• A passion for books and readingAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
