Are you excited to drive high-visibility construction and engineering solutions to help streamline Amazon's building carbon footprint?


The Global Engineering Services (GES) team is searching for a Program Manager, Sustainability. The Program Manager will be responsible for research and assessment of scope 3 building materials and strategies. This person will work on completing the full life-cycle of a technology or strategy by overseeing integration, implementation, tracking and report out of the deployment on an Amazon Ops site and working on standardizing the adoption. As a Program Manager, you will communicate with cross-functional teams including construction site staff, Amazon’s central sustainability teams and outside stakeholders. This role will contribute directly towards Amazon Ops buildings decarbonization glidepath.


Responsibilities


  • Understand the impact of Scope 3 materials/ systems in Amazon Ops buildings.
  • Understand design and construction of commercial mass timber buildings, including design, structural impacts and supply chain.
  • Understanding of scope 3 materials like insulation, glazing, interior finishes etc in building core and shell.
  • Proficient in scope 3 material quantity takeoffs, MAC, NPV and simple pay back analysis.
  • Communication across various stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and tasks to ensure the overall success of the program/ projects
  • Strategic planning and forecasting to appraise performance and problem resolution related to emerging technologies in building construction
  • Track and keep accountability for multiple deployments of complex projects simultaneously
  • Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs; we work fast and hard
  • Critically examining the impact of Scope 3 building materials on Amazon Ops carbon glidepath
  • Leading calls with vendors, reporting project status and following up to successfully closeout out Scope 3 tech assessment
  • Identify and manage project risks
  • Ability to travel up to 25% at times


Key job responsibilities


This person will be focussed on deep dive sustainbility projects, looking into emerging technologies and design strategies that are new to Amazon Ops construction. The role requires an understanding of Scope 3 materials used in Amazon Ops building core and shell, like timber, low carbon concrete, alternate insulation types etc.

Basic Qualifications


  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Bachelors degree required in Architecture/ Construction management/ Engineering.
  • 3+ years of expericen in Construction/ Design and Sustainability.
  • 3+ Years of experince with Excel, Scopre 3 tracking platforms like EC3, Oneclick
  • 3+ Years of experience with Architecture and construction softwares like Revit, BIM 360.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Degree in Architecture
  • 6+ years of progressive responsibility in program or project management
  • LEED AP or similar green building certification or direct experience of zero carbon building projects
  • Experience with communicating effectively with executive level leadership
  • Proven background and prior experience in a program management or operational role within a logistics, construction, engineering, or supply chain environment.
  • Proven experience in executing program solutions in a fast paced, high growth, operational business environment
  • Highly organized, ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little to no guidance and tight deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
