Manager, Software Engineering

Anatomy is on a mission to automate financial operations for healthcare and enable providers to focus on quality patient care.  Financial operations in healthcare are unique. Anatomy uses the latest advancements in AI and fintech to create seamless solutions purpose-built for healthcare organizations.

Anatomy is a fast-growing, venture-backed business based in the Bay Area and backed by leading investors including Lightspeed, Canapi, Meridian Street Capital, and Live Oak Bank.

The Role

As a hands-on engineering leader, you will play an important role in shaping the product as we build Anatomy.  We are looking for a highly intelligent, humble, curious, and detail oriented person who loves solving problems with code.   We are looking for an engineering leader excited about a wide range of work dealing with technical problems across the backend services and infrastructure related to our finance technology products.

What You’ll Do:

• Partner with the CTO to build and lead a world-class Fintech engineering team.

• Acting as a player-coach, spend at least 50% of your time writing code, performing peer code reviews, providing feedback on RFC’s.  

• Act as the engineering partner to the product owner of the Fintech engineering team.

• Contribute to the system design of new product features.

• Contribute to the architecture and design of the product.

• Help develop a strong engineering culture and high quality development and testing practices.

• Define, implement and evolve technical architecture.

• Drive key projects across development, quality, infrastructure and data engineering.

• Mentor more junior engineers.

Experience and Attributes You’ll Bring:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role.

• Minimum 5-10 years of expertise writing code in Python.   Your code reflects the Zen of Python.

• Demonstrated success at building distributed systems that are scalable, easy to understand, and maintainable.

• CS, mathematics, or similar degree from a reputable university.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Low ego, independent, accountable individuals who are curious and love to learn while sharing their knowledge with others.  

• Expertise in fintech, or banking.

• Bonus: Infrastructure experience with AWS or GCP.

• Bonus: Expertise with Terraform and IaaC.

• Bonus: Expertise with NLP, Machine Learning, LLM
