The Principal Project Manager will be responsible for tracking budget, schedule, and risk, managing the Anser Program Management Team, and driving resolution on open actions for the Mainstem Cable Replacement program, part of our clients Long Term Infrastructure Improvement Plan (LTIIP) Program.
Responsibilities:- Manages stakeholders and multiple project teams
- Acts as a coach, mentor, and manager for Mainstem Project Management Team
- Coaches, develops, and manages other Project Managers for associated complex projects
- Manage finances, cost engineering, scheduling, environmental considerations, regulatory agency requirements, labor problems, public and client relations, employee relations and changing laws
- Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements
- Provide project status updates to the Program Manager and the customer’s manager of project management
- Identify and obtain project team resources
- Responsible and accountable for overall project performance including, scope, quality, schedule, innovation for the most complex and high-risk projects
- Serve as the primary communicator with the sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues
- Review contractor’s invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Lead regularly scheduled, detailed project presentations
- Ensure a good working relationship between the project manager, line managers, and those employees assigned to the project
- Ensure project costs are managed, including development of recovery plan to stay within budget limits
- Ensure project team members understand their respective responsibilities
- Coach and lead team members to ensure that they can complete task plans, spending plans, and communication plans
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:- Must have PMP or be willing to obtain PMP within 24 months.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical utilities project, engineering, or construction management.
- Must have knowledge and experience in underground electric distribution construction projects.
- Must be able to coordinate work scope with multiple work groups or contractors.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety policies.
- Knowledge of project management concepts and principles.
- Experience administering large dollar projects is required.
- Previous supervisory experience is required.
Skills:- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project related scheduling systems such as MS Project or Primavera are required.
- Must possess good written and oral communications skills and have proven analytical experience.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior time management skills; must be able to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgement, and solve problems.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.

Requirements:- Direct experience with Project Management within both Mainstem and URD disciplines.
- This position involves a combination of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day. Requires the ability to view and comprehend information and emails on computer monitors for the majority of the day.
- This position requires strong communication skills (verbal and written), the ability to problem solve, interpret information and draw conclusions in order to make decisions. This position also requires strong supervisory, presentation and budgeting skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work product is also required as well as the ability to effectively handle conflicting priorities.
- This position will potentially require weekly in-person client meetings and site reviews/walkdowns.
