We are seeking smart, driven and talented individuals who are not only thought leaders in the API space but can balance the diversity of skills a fast paced consulting environment requires. There are multiple openings that fall in the following categories:

• API Manager - Functional Architect
• API Manager - Technical Architect
• API Developer

Responsibilities include a combination of the following depending on the role:

API Manager - Functional Architect

• Lead API strategy / roadmap initiatives while aligning the strategy to the business objectives for our clients
• Includes helping establish API organizations, API development methodology and selection of API technology components including API gateway
• Gather requirements
• Lead API design driven by business requirements
• Lead a team of API developers in delivering large and complex API solutions
• Manage project, client and vendor relationships, team, finances
• Agile project delivery
• Communicate risks, issues, challenges and status/progress of the project
• Document requirements, design, architecture and test scripts
• Lead or assist in responding to RFPs / proposals
• Participate in thought leadership, vendor relationships
  

API Manager - Technical Architect

• Lead a team of API developers in delivering large and complex API solutions
• Work with API functional architect in defining the technical API roadmap, strategy and solution, evolution from SOA to APIs
• Design, implement, test and deploy APIs using the latest technologies and best practices.
• Agile project delivery
• Implement API management using API management software (like Apigee or others) to include API proxies, mashups, rate limiting, security, analytics, monetization and developer portals
• Communicate risks, issues, challenges and status/progress of the project
• Document requirements, design, architecture and test scripts
• Lead or assist in responding to RPFs / proposals
• Participate in thought leadership

Developer

• Participate and / or lead a team of API developers in delivering large and complex API solutions
• Assist API technical architects in defining the API roadmap, strategy and solution, evolution from SOA to APIs and in building APIs
• Design, implement, test and deploy APIs using the latest technologies and best practices.
• Implement API management using API management software (like Apigee or others) to include API proxies, mashups, rate limiting, security, analytics, monetization and developer portals
• Agile project delivery
• Communicate risks, issues, challenges and status/progress of the project
• Document requirements, design, architecture and test script

Requirements

Depending on the role:

• 2 to 5 years of experience with an API management / gateway software like Apigee or Layer 7 or Mashery or WSO2 or equivalent with the knowledge of API mashups, analytics, developer networks, monetization models and security
• 4 to 10 years of development experience using Java or .NET, XML, JSP or ASP, JavaScript or VB Script and Node.js; WSDL/SOAP/XML and REST/JSON, Swagger or equivalent
• Experience in HTTP/HTTPS protocol, web services and use of web servers
• Experience in designing relational databases and SQL scripting
• Know-how of Cassandra, Hadoop/MapReduce, Mongo DB
• 2 to 4 years of know-how in implementing security and identity protocols such as OpenID, TLS, OAuth, SAML, SSO, PKI (encryption and key management), REST
• Knowledge in API design and implementation and system integration using APIs
• Experience in working on the cloud (iPaas / Saas)
• 2 to 5 years of project management and technical architecture experience
• 2 to 5 years of experience in managing teams, clients, vendors, finances
• These are location independent roles but may require up to 75 % travel.
