POSITION: Application Engineer- Optics

LOCATION: 965 W. Maude Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94085

JOB DUTIES: Draw on experience with prototype build & test (process knowledge in optical component ranging display, sensor, optical interconnect, to analysis) including UV curing, spectrophotometer, wet coating, and slot-die coating, as well as statistical data analysis and software (JMP or similar software), to prototype, test, and analyze optical materials in various application use case scenarios per customers’ requirement. Build center of excellence in optical characterization within DuPont to support adoption of novel DuPont materials to growing optical markets. Propose and prototype solutions to critical industry problems utilizing hypothesis driven approach. Continuously develop expertise in end-use application space and fully support our customers. Compile, document, and communicate value-in-use information, competitive intelligence, and related items to continuously improve our competitive advantage. Collaborate with different business units within DuPont and provide insights on new product and application opportunities to meet customer needs. 20% domestic travel required.

REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and One year of post-baccalaureate experience reflecting demonstrable ability in the skill set described in the job duties.

OFFERED WAGE: $135,600- $161,920/year

The Pay range for this role is $103,040.00 - $161,920.00 Annual
